Our 4th grade students have been working hard on strategies for comparing fractions this month. To celebrate their perseverance and demonstrate their understanding, they were given a challenge: each student was assigned a fraction card, and they had to line themselves up in order from 0 to 3 using the strategies they learned. A human number line! It was a great way to practice their skills in collaboration (and mental math, too.)
