Letter From the Principal

Dear Parents,

March is off to a great start and we are looking forward to our upcoming events!

Our Science Fair will begin tomorrow with projects due by 8:00 a.m.  I would like to thank our Science Fair Committee for all the hard work in organizing this event, and thank you to all our families for supporting this wonderful educational opportunity.  Feel free to come out tomorrow after 12:30 p.m. and anytime on Wednesday before 1:45 p.m. and look at all the great projects and wonderful ideas that students have implemented!

March 6th through the 10th will be our Safety Drill Week.  We will have a statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, March 8th and a Lockdown Drill on Thursday, March 9th.   This will also be School Breakfast Week Challenge.  Students will be provided with punch cards for the week and will receive a punch each day, if they take at least one breakfast item.  Students who eat breakfast are much more likely to be able to focus and learn.  The winning classrooms will receive a class prize.

On Tuesday, March 28th, Pisgah will receive a visit from an Advanced ED team.  This accreditation team will be looking for great teaching practices and a continuous plan for improvement.  They have selected twelve schools in Buncombe County, and we are very excited to be part of this group!  This team will be visiting classrooms and talking with teachers, students, parents, staff, and administration at the twelve schools, including Pisgah.  We are really excited for them to see all the great things that we do at Pisgah!

Don’t forget to “spring forward” next week by setting your clocks an hour ahead for Daylight Savings Time.  Thank you to all our parents who ensure that their children arrive on time each day.

Thank you for your continued support!
