Letter From the Principal

Dear Parents,

We are so excited that spring is here!  We are looking forward to all our upcoming events.  Pisgah has received a $750.00 grant from LEAF Community Arts here in Buncombe County.  With this grant, we have a Grammy nominated singer and songwriter from Ghana that will be working with our third-grade students for a few hours on May 10th, 11, and 12th.  This artist has performed with Stevie Wonder, Peter Gabriel, Bono, Jason Mraz, Janelle Monae, and John Legend.  What a great global and artistic experience for our students!  Eleven third grade students have signed up to perform on Saturday, May 13th at the LEAF Festival in Black Mountain.  We will have an assembly on Friday, May 12th for the whole school to see the combined student and artist performance.  We are looking forward to this great experience for all our students!

Also, our Field Day is coming up and we will need volunteers.  If you would like to volunteer for this event, you will need to complete the online volunteer application if you have not already done so.  Field Day will be Friday, June 2nd.  We are also looking forward to our former Pisgah students that are graduating from Enka High School doing a Graduation Walk here at Pisgah in their gap and gowns.  They will be here on June 8th.  It is hard to believe that the end of the year is fast approaching!

Thanks again for all that you do!  Happy Spring!
