Letter From the Principal

Dear Parents,

I am looking forward to beginning my second year as principal here at Pisgah Elementary!  I have felt very blessed to have been here this past year, and I am anticipating another great year!  This is such a beautiful community that has been very supportive and deeply loves Pisgah!  I quickly fell in love with Pisgah and our terrific students as well!

Many people ask me what makes Pisgah a great school.  First of all, our teachers are very dedicated professionals that strive to create a strong love for learning, a fun and safe environment for all students to thrive, and a caring community that puts all student’s first. Our staff believes that all students can grow academically as well as socially and emotionally.  This effort is very targeted, ongoing, and intentional.  My hope is that you will continue to work with us to make that happen.  Also, we have very well-behaved students who love learning and look forward to coming to school each day!

Our PTO is ready to hit the ground running!  They have been electing officers and meeting several times to develop plans for the upcoming year.  Please think about joining PTO, volunteering, and becoming an active member of Pisgah Elementary.  Research clearly indicates that parent involvement coincides with an increased likelihood of academic success.  When parents are involved in their child’s education, everyone is a winner, especially our students!  As a result, students begin to understand the importance of education and begin to value academics.

It is our desire to keep you informed.  I will continue to do weekly phone messages as the need warrants.  We also place important information on our website, and teachers routinely send home information about upcoming dates and events, too.  I firmly believe that it does take a village to raise a child, and it is important to have a strong school and home partnership.  When we all work together and communicate, our students are the ultimate benefactors.  I have an open-door policy.  If you ever have questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.  I look forward to working with you as a team to help ensure that each one of our students reach their potential and has a successful school year!

Sincerely,

Jeanann Yates
